Sutter Health Plan, proudly serving Northern California since 2014, is expanding its service area effective Oct. 1, 2026 for small groups and Jan. 1, 2027 for large groups and individuals and families. The new service area includes additional ZIP codes in Placer, Sonoma and Sutter counties and portions of Amador and Yuba counties. You can see a full service area map here.

The expansion marks Sutter Health Plan’s sixth service area growth and reflects Sutter Health’s ongoing commitment to increasing access to coordinated, affordable patient-centered care across Northern California.

Sutter Health Plan now serves commercial customers across 18 counties, providing access to one of Northern California’s most comprehensive and integrated healthcare systems. The strength of that system was recently recognized when Sutter Health was named No. 2 nationally among large health systems on Premier’s 15 Top Health Systems® list.

Sutter Health Plan also earned a 4 out of 5-star rating from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for 2026, reflecting its commitment to quality care, exceptional service and member satisfaction. The plan has received a 4-star or higher rating for the last five reporting years.
