Eight hospital campuses in the Sutter Health Plan network earned a national 2025 Patient Safety Excellence Award™ by Healthgrades, an online resource that provides consumers with information about physicians and hospitals.
This achievement, announced during National Patient Safety Awareness Week, reflects the commitment to safe, patient-centered care and places these hospitals among the top 10% of hospitals nationwide for patient safety.
Network hospital campuses awarded Healthgrades’ 2025 Patient Safety Excellence Awards are:
- Alta Bates Summit Medical Center – Alta Bates Campus
- California Pacific Medical Center – Davies Campus
- California Pacific Medical Center – Mission Bernal Campus
- Mills-Peninsula Medical Center (Burlingame)
- Novato Community Hospital
- Sequoia Hospital (Redwood City)
- Sutter Roseville Medical Center
- Sutter Solano Medical Center

To determine the 2025 top-performing hospitals for patient safety, Healthgrades evaluated risk-adjusted complication and mortality rates for approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide. The Patient Safety Excellence Award honors hospitals that had the lowest occurrences of 14 preventable patient safety events.
