Three hospital campuses in the Sutter Health Plan network earned the 2026 Outstanding Patient Experience Award™ from Healthgrades, an online resource that provides consumers with information about physicians and hospitals.
This recognition, announced during National Hospital Week, reflects a strong commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care and puts all three hospitals in the top 15% nationally for patient experience.
Network hospital campuses awarded Healthgrades’ 2026 Outstanding Patient Experience Awards are:
- Mills-Peninsula Medical Center (Burlingame) – Top 1% of Hospitals Nationwide
- Sequoia Hospital (Redwood City)
- Sutter Roseville Medical Center
Mills-Peninsula Medical Center and Sutter Roseville Medical Center also earned Healthgrades’ ‘Triple Crown’ distinction for 2026 — a rare recognition awarded to hospitals that excel in all three areas: patient safety, clinical quality and patient experience.
“Congratulations to Mills-Peninsula, Sequoia and Sutter Roseville for this well-deserved recognition. These awards reflect what our network hospitals do every day — listening to patients, coordinating care thoughtfully, and making sure every person feels supported from admission through recovery,” said Dr. Robert Bixler, Medical Director, Sutter Health Plan.
Healthgrades evaluated more than 3,000 hospitals that submitted at least 100 patient experience surveys to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, covering admissions from January-December 2024. The organization applies a scoring methodology to 10 patient experience measures, including staff communication, medication explanations, and cleanliness, to determine the Outstanding Patient Experience awarded hospitals.
