As we enter our 11th year in the market, our organization is now doing business as Sutter Health Plan effective Jan. 1, 2025. The name Sutter Health Plan more clearly and concisely communicates who we are — a health plan that is part of the Sutter Health family.
2024 marked a significant milestone for Sutter Health Plus as we celebrated our 10-year anniversary on January 1. To commemorate this achievement, we are giving back to the communities that have supported us throughout the years by donating a total of $136,000 to five charities that share our commitment to improving people’s lives in our local communities.
Twenty Sutter Health Plus network hospital campuses received an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit focused on patient safety. An additional five hospital campuses in the network earned a “B” grade for prioritizing patient safety and helping protect patients from preventable harms and errors.
Nine Sutter Health Plus network medical groups earned four stars or higher in quality of care or patient experience — or both — for care provided to patients enrolled in a Commercial Health Maintenance Organization, or HMO plan.
Sutter Health Plus network hospitals consistently achieve some of the lowest C-section rates in California. Recently, 13 network hospitals earned recognition by the California Maternal Quality Care Collaborative (CMQCC). The CMQCC acknowledges hospitals for going above and beyond to provide high-quality, safe care to California’s mothers, birthing people and newborns.
Seven Sutter Health Plus network hospitals achieved recognition as being among the best hospitals in California for 2024-25 from U.S. News & World Report, a global leader in quality rankings. In total, 23 Sutter Health Plus network hospital campuses received “High Performing” recognitions in at least one individual quality measure, the highest distinction a hospital can earn for U.S. News’ Best Hospitals Procedures & Conditions ratings.
